Bethesda has announced it, based on the popular video game, it’s time!

This DOOM #1 Comic Book by Steve Behling and Tom Grindberg is a must-have for any fan of the Doom video game franchise. The Convention Edition was used as promotional content for the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 1996. Published by Marvel and GT interactive in 1996, it has been professionally graded by Certified Guaranty Company (CGC) with a 9.0 Very Fine/Near Mint grade and comes with a certification number of 4401465006.

There are three known prints of this comic. This is the first print. The second print is near identical, but the ad on the back is Hexen, and the #1 on the front is NOT italicized. The third print is much easier to tell apart from the other two, since it’s missing the GT interactive badge below “id,” on the front. This is considered the rarest of the three, being a promotional comic that was given away at a very small convention in 1996. Most promotional items are thrown away, even today. An odd comic as it is, its cover art is synonymous with the game it was created for. Less than 25 on the census, and currently only 8 are graded higher with this being the current highest grade of this print for sale. You will see other listings claiming they’re a convention edition, but as you will see, their CGC slabs are missing the text of where it would be if they were the OG’s. Recently, it’s confirmed that at this years (2024), Xbox Showcase, we will be seeing a teaser/trailer for the newest Doom game.
