Lots of visible surface gold dispersed within the chalcopyrite, altered pyrite, quartz rock, and associated sulfides.
Native gold slugs up to 3 mm and squeezed at the quartz seams.
A beautiful example of a gold-quartz specimen from California.
The gold ore from this mining district can also contain platinum and palladium but the specimen has not been tested for any precious metals other than gold.
