Antique Folk Art Early Canteen Transformation to Artwork Wow For Sale

Herewe have a piece of antique folk art that is certain to be aconversation piece. We believe that it was an antique canvas coveredcivil war canteen that a potter turned into a piece of art with somered clay and imagination. You can see the canvas like texture on both sides thathas had a skim of redware laid over it and at the top is a beautifulspout that looks like the mouthpiece of a musical instrument. Thespout and clay were firmly fired into place to create thisinteresting bit of art and to preserve history. The filigree wasfashioned in a way that the canteen could be hung on the wall. Itwill not hold water as the spout is solid deep inside. There are nobreaks or cracks. It is a decorative item only. Please refer to the photos for the best look.

Measurements are: 10 ¾” bottom to the spout x 8 ¾” w. and issomewhat heavy as it is mostly pottery.
