MASSIVE 15.5\" BLADE Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife Hand Forged BY RAVENFORGE For Sale

I made this Bowie knifeby hand forging it. Just like the ones made in the south during the civil war.Then I go through a strict heat-treating process. Which involves normalizing above 1500 degrees then goes through thermal cycling several times to remove stresses, this refines grain structure and aligns crystals for a stronger steel. After it gets hardened by heating the blade to Austenite it at critical temperature for a soaking time, then quenched in parks oil, and then gets tempered. This results in a very hard edge and a durable blade. That holds an excellent edge that stays sharp for a long time.It was made from 1/4\" thick 5160 High Carbon steel. You can pierce a car door and shave with it.It is razor sharp. The blade is 15.5\" long and 21\"overall.Has a distal taper that results in a knife that is both lightweight and exhibits excellent edge geometry.It has a very beefy solid feel to it and is virtually indestructible with a FULL tang peened at the end. The handle ismade from real BONE. Fits in the hand nicely. Has a blacksmith made look to it, and you defiantly cantell its not factory made.Would be great for civil warreenactors.A hand stitched custom sheath is included.It is made of high-quality vegetable tanned8-9 oz.leather. The sheath was dyed dark brown and sealed with leather polish. I take pride in making my knives and each one is handcrafted taking numerous hours to complete. I DID A CHOPPING TEST ON SOME ANTLER. IT DESTROYED THE ANTLER AND STAYED RAZOR SHARP WITH ABSOLUTELY NO EDGE DAMAGE!!!! I had the amazing experience of being on the TV show Forged In Fire on the History Channel. My episode was on Season 4, Episode 22. I learned a lot from the experience and made some great new friend\'s as well.
