Rare 1921 Richard Hudnut Art Deco Compact with Powder For Sale

Imagine a time of flappers and jazz, of cloche hats and bold red lips. This exquisite Richard Hudnut compact would have been right at home in a 1920s purse, a symbol of glamour and sophistication. The compact is engraved with Richard Hudnut, New York, Paris, Complementary on the top, and the date "Pat. 8-2-21" on the edge, suggesting it was a promotional item. It has a screw-off top and a lever on the edge that slides to open the holes on the bottom for dispensing powder. The compact is in great vintage condition, still shiny and bright, but has some scratches on the lid. It is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
