The Philco 32A Radio - a Rare Model from Canada For Sale

From Canada comes the Philco 32A radioof 1940.
Rarely seen, it features highlights like the fine walnut cabinet, striking wood tracing over the speaker grill, beautifully grained side panels and all contrasted by black accents.
The transformer powered electronics have been revitalized with all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced with modern units, tubes tested and replaced if performing below specs, controls cleaned and lubricated, and the set aligned. The result in my area is sensitive reception across the AM band from the short 6-7 feet of antenna wire. Extending the antenna would improve reception in rural areas. The grill cloth is original.Note that there is a slight veneer issue northeast of the speaker opening. Check the photos to see this.
The dial face is illuminated with a new dial light, the red Philco dial pointer was polished, and the original plastic dial cover is still in place. The knobs are original as is the power cord and plug. The original label with chassis layout is in the interior.
The cabinet was stripped, walnut stain applied and all finished with multiple coats of clear and black lacquer.The result is a gorgeous wood cabinet sure to impress all who see it.
Don\'t let it slip away to that other guy... The radio measures about 14\" W x 9.5\" H x 7.5\" D and weighs about 10 lbs. unpacked. It will be safely packed and quickly sent by UPS Ground.
