Trix 52 2469 00 HO Gauge DR VT858 diesel railcar in cream and red livery For Sale

This nice HO gauge railcar by Trix is 52 2469 00 a DR VT858 diesel railcar in cream and red livery. It has the running number 2230.

The DR 853 ... 871 railcar series includes the vehicles DR 853–861 and DR 866–871 . These are the series vehicles that were delivered by the DRG after testing the DR 851 to 852 as heavy-duty diesel railcars with mechanical transmissions. After the DR 851 to 852 had proven themselves in testing, the DRG ordered a total of 15 railcars of the same design from the Wismar wagon factory for branch line service in various areas.

The basic principle of the vehicles was the same riveted heavy car body, which was derived from the express train cars

After 1947, the vehicles were to receive the new VT 65 series with serial numbers starting from 900 . Ultimately, only two vehicles remained after 1950. VT 859 was the only vehicle that reached the DB and was given the company number VT 65 903.

None survive in preservation.

The railcar is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, it is fully tested and runs with working lights.

It comes complete with its box. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.
