VTG 1959 Pair Oktoberfest Hats With Pins For Couple Man’s & Lady’s Germany For Sale

My parents honeymooned in Germany in October of 1959 and attended an Oktoberfest. These are their hats, only worn once and have been carefully stored away. Green wool with leather band and satin linings. All stamped in gold with the maker’s information (Fritz Gunzrodt). They each have the garmisch pin with hat, miners pick and edelweiss flower in enamel. They have some corrosion on the banner portion.

The ladies hat has a white fluffy ostrich feather with a green felt cutout holding a larger pewter flower in a pewter latch back pin holder with a flower design. There is a small label under the leather band with the “4” for size. It measures 20.75” around the inside at the point where the band meets the felt so about the brow line.

The man’s has the pewter elk with cross and wreath motif holding a boar bristle brush. The brush isn’t glued into the holder - it comes out. Both hats in excellent condition with the tied cords on the outside. They do have a bit of dust but no stains or damage. Please see photos. The size isn’t clear - I added a photo of the label on the inside under the leather band. It measures 22” measured at the leather band where it meets the felt hat so at the brow line.
