Fabric is soft ..maybe a rayon or acetate or silk bend .. I am unsure ..

 tapestry/embroidery with lots of details in the threads of the pattern 

era: 1940's - 60's

Label: Made in Italy 

Woven of tan, pink , blues and white - some shiny thread and some not 

Fringe Hem 

Man playing Mandolin and Woman playing Tambourine woven in the fabric 

If you fold in half - each side of blanket shows the same pattern
