Vintage Early Groves 14\" Back Saw For Sale

Here we have an early vintage Groves & Sons 14” back saw. This is more of a collector’s saw rather than a user saw. It would take some work to make it a user. The plate has a wave to it and the teeth would need to be jointed and sharpened. I bought this saw years ago for three main reasons. 1) It’s a Groves saw. Need I say more? Those who know vintage saws know that Groves was one of THE finest saw makers. 2) It’s an early Groves saw. Groves saws can be hard to date but I believe this is pretty early based on the stamp on the spine, the blind medallion, and the extra craftsmanship on the handle. My guesstimate would be pre-1850. 3) The handle is amazing. More intricate carving than the usual and it’s in really nice condition.
The stamp to the right of Groves & Sons on the spine is in small font and reads “Spring Temper Warranted”. 12 PPI.
