Estate sale find, this is a long, vintage German-made sharpening steel by the F. DIck Company.
With an easy to hold grip, topped with a large ring to hang the tool, this sharpener/burnisher has a steel rod that is 19 inches overall.
Perfect for keeping a sharp edge on larger knives, cleavers, and larger carvers - but handles paring knives and steak knives as well.
Shows some wear on the wood handle and the guard has a few cut marks, but this steel was lovingly used!
