Solid metal - not sure if the is brass bronze lead or what - but it feels heavy
THIS WEBSITE HAS SOME ENTERTAINING AMNH carried the full line of SRG (Sell Rite Gifts) metal Dinosaurs.It was the best toy store in the world.The AMNH (The American Museum of Natural History in New York) sold the SRG series of metal Dinosaur toys in its gift shops from the late 1940s to mid \'50s (the small ones sold for maybe $1.00 which was a bit of money at that time)
They were introduced in 1947 and continued in production for the next eight years by Sell Rite Gifts. In 1955 the molds were sold to a company in Japan.
MAKERS MARK:

• SRG and a number that looks like 47 but may be 97

SIZE:

• Approximately 1.75\" tall x 2.5\" long

CONDITION:

• Please note small point is missing from the end of the tail - otherwise in good condition, especially for a vintage metal toy of this age.

The species Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning \"king\" in Latin), often called T. rex or colloquially T-Rex, is one of the best represented theropods. It lived throughout what is now western North America, on what was then an island continent known as Laramidia. Tyrannosaurus had a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the Upper Cretaceous period, 68 to 66 million years ago. It was the last known member of the tyrannosaurids and among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.
