1930 Press Photo Harold Higby Breaks World's Glider Record at Mount Wilson For Sale

1930 Vintage Press Photo by INTERNATIONAL NEWS.Pasadena, California.Harold G. Higby of Pasadena and his homemade glider, in which he started out on what was intended to be a test of Mount Wilson's air currents. It ended in a new unofficial world record for both altitude and distance.
Higby hopped off from an elevation of 6,000 feet on the side of Mount Wilson and glided over a course approximately 20 miles in length. Stranger yet, he "sat the plane down" within 100 yards from where he had instructed his wife to wait for him.
