FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.Up for sale is a genuine piece of modern aviation history: a fired 30mm aluminum shell casing from the legendary GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon, famously mounted on the USAF A-10 Thunderbolt II (Warthog) attack aircraft.Unlike heavy brass, this is a lightweight, dark olive/grey aluminum casing weighing about 7 oz and measuring roughly 7 inches long. It features its original military stenciling printed on the side: 7400730-1 (military part number) and ACN92K011-005, which dates its manufacture to November 1992 by the Aerojet Ordnance Company.The primer cap is completely struck and spent.
