For sale is a pair of genuine, ANTIQUE, HAND TINTED LITHOGRAPHS. These Postcards, circa 1907-1915, show iconic Paris, France as it was. They are both original "Edition Virgile" prints, as shown on their reverse.

***ICONIC SCENES***

1) The EIFLE TOWER with the Ecole Militaire Complex, which sits at the opposite end of Champ de Mars [from the tower].

2) The CHAMPS ELYSEES, with the ARC DE TRIOMPHE.

Together, these two cards, both dating back to the Golden Age of Postcards, were originally part of a souvenir "carnet," a very popular style of the era. This type of booklet had varying numbers of cards and could be kept intact or detached to note and mail.

The act of detaching the cards created a decle type edge, albeit smaller than the intentional "decle" of later years.

These were kept in the same family from the time of purchase until the yr 2000. At that time, the owner, a friend of my family, passed away. I was then gifted a few boxes of their items. In the 26 yrs I've had them, they remained packed away until recently.

***CONDITION Details***

AUTHENTICITY: These are genuine antiques, not modern reproductions. They are hand tinted lithograph postcards.

BACKS: Both feature the classic divided back, dating these specifically from 1907-1915. They have clear, crisp print and evidence of minimal foxing, considering their age. They are unused and Unposted.

*The Champs Eleese card has a small, faint stray blue ink mark just above the third address line.

EDGES: Show the characteristic texture of cards detached from a carnet.

DESIGN Elements: Both include the original printed guide dots and lines in the bottom right corner (not handwritten).
