Charming pair of vintage Chinese-style string marionette puppets featuring painted ceramic/porcelain-type heads, hands and feet, traditional fabric costumes and their original wooden paddle-style controls.

Each puppet measures approximately 9 inches long, not including the control paddle and strings.

One puppet wears a bright red robe with green and gold trim, while the other wears a striking red-and-white patterned robe with black and gold trim. Both have beautifully painted faces, molded orange and gold headdresses and black upturned shoes.

The puppets are operated by multiple strings attached to wooden hand controls. Both controls are included.

Condition:

The wooden controls show age and wear. Strings are present and untangled but may require adjustment before operation (especially after shipping). Both puppets can be suspended and posed, as shown in the photos.
