This wonderful antique advertising plate dates to 1915 and features a beautifully illustrated map of the Panama Canal.
Surrounding the map is a complete 1915 calendar, two American flags, patriotic ribbon details, and a decorative gold-colored rim. The combination of early advertising, Maine history, and Panama Canal imagery makes this a particularly interesting display piece.
The bottom reads:
“Souvenir from Burkett Bros. Bakers — Camden, ME.”
This plate was likely produced as an advertising premium for the Burkett Brothers bakery business in Camden, Maine, making it especially appealing to collectors of Maine memorabilia, antique advertising, bakery collectibles, and historical souvenir plates.
