Antique Arts Crafts Leaded Mosaic Glass Piano Desk Lamp Adjustable c1910-1920 For Sale

Beautiful early 20th-century adjustable piano/desk lamp featuring an unusual hand-constructed leaded mosaic glass shade in warm cream, amber, caramel and pale green tones.

The curved shade is made from numerous individually fitted pieces of glass with leaded/soldered construction and larger opalescent glass panels at each end. The shade is mounted in an adjustable metal cradle with a round weighted base. Based on the construction, materials and hardware, this appears consistent with American Arts & Crafts lighting from approximately the 1910s–1920s.

No maker’s mark has been found, so the manufacturer is unknown. Similar period lamps were produced by several prominent American art-glass and lighting manufacturers; no specific maker attribution is being made with this listing.

Lamp is in antique, preowned condition with age-related wear, patina and oxidation. The glass has been gently cleaned. One of the opalescent glass end panels has visible cracking from age/damage; please see close-up photos. The right-side shade support also appears slightly bent/out of alignment, causing the threaded pivot to sit at a slight angle. The mosaic shade shows additional age and irregularities consistent with its handmade construction. Please review all photos carefully for the condition of the glass, solder work and metal components.

Includes very old cloth-covered wiring, two-prong plug and inline switch. Due to the age of the electrical components, the lamp is being sold untested and the wiring should be professionally inspected/replaced as necessary before use. No attempt has been made to polish, restore or straighten the lamp.

Approximate measurements: Lamp measures 11” tall from the base to the top of the shade. Overall width across the outside edges of the shade bracket is approximately 7 1/4”. The glass shade itself measures approximately 5 13/16” wide × 3 3/8” deep × 2 3/8” tall.
