Antique CDV Photo Dying Woman In Bed 1879 15 Years Sick Handwritten Inscription For Sale

Original 1879 CDV portrait of a woman reclining in bed during a long illness. The upper portion of the inscription appears to have been written by the woman herself and reads:

“Taken Sept 1879

I had been

sick 15 years

last December”

Below this, in a noticeably different hand and darker ink, is written:

“6 Cab

Mrs C. Cushman”

The “6 Cab” notation likely indicates that six cabinet card copies were to be made from this CDV. It is possible that this later notation and order were made after Mrs. Cushman died, although there is no way to confirm this.
