Description From the Tom O'Key Collection, offering an extremely rare and desirable Victoria pre-flint pocket lamp, an early lighting device, briquet amorce, feuerzeuge, accendino, fire-making device, antique pocket cap lighter that is a very fine example.
Included is an original roll of wax taper amorce caps that are both the fuel and ignition system that defines this innovation in fire making technology.
Dating to the last decade of the 1800’s, these lighters were also marketed by Magic Introduction Company and are so marked with the Logo known for Elias Koopman's enterprises.
The condition is as original, with no repairs or cleaning. It is completely functional. The unused roll of caps is over 100 years old, so I cannot confirm whether they still work.
It measures about 2-1/8' x 1-1/8' x 3/8". The top is marked VICTORIA. The bottom reads:
