On August 21, 1864 Confederate General AP Hill launched a fierce assault on GK Warren\'s 5th Corp lines at Globe Tavern and Blick\'s Station, Virginia, as part of the 4 day fight known as the 2nd Battle of the Weldon Railroad. The 29th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, a noted combat unit defended Blick\'s Station.
