Doug Sneyd Original Pencil Preliminary Playboy Art Sketch Christmas Carolers \'97 For Sale

From the December 1997 issue of Playboy, this sketch features a preliminary drawing created by acclaimed illustrator Doug Sneyd for that issues gag cartoon. It is two pieces, both drawn on vellum and taped to a standard sheet of copy paper to overlay just right to create the image. It measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Also included is a 8 1/2 by 11 inch Xerox copy of the cover to the issue this gag appeared in.Please note that the magazine itself is not included in with the listing. The listing is for the original artwork and the Xerox copy of the finished gag only. Shown for reference - in the second scan - is the cartoon as it ultimately appeared in the issue (again, though, this is shown for reference only- it is not included in with the listing).

About Doug Sneyd:

Doug Sneyd began his career incommercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for theToronto Star, Canada\'s largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboyand hisgag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
