Own a piece of American history struck in solid sterling silver.
This is an original Franklin Mint “Great Flags of America” full-size ingot — the 27th official U.S. flag. It commemorates Hawaii’s statehood in 1960, which added the 50th star. This is the same 50-star flag planted on the Moon by the Apollo 11 astronauts in July 1969.
Details:
• Official Franklin Mint issue from the limited Great Flags of America series (1970s)
• 50-star United States flag design
• Weight: 1,408 grains (approx. 2.93 troy oz of .925 sterling silver / ~2.71 oz fine silver)
• Size: roughly 2¾” × 1½”
• Edge stamped STERLING + weight
• Reverse inscription notes Hawaii statehood (1960) and that this flag was planted on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission
This is the larger, more impressive full-size version (not the smaller mini-ingot set). These bars were produced in limited numbers and remain popular with both silver collectors and space/patriotic history enthusiasts.
The exact bar shown is the one you will receive. Strong detail in the stars and stripes.
A unique combination of precious metal, American history, and a direct connection to both Hawaiian statehood and the first Moon landing.
Questions welcome — additional photos of the reverse available upon request.
