My uncle lived in Nigeria for 40 years from the 1950s to the 1980s. These hand-carved wooden sculptures featuring figures of Nigerian Yoruba villagers and a longboat are from his private collection.

The village features:

- a very detailed longboat with 4 figures and supplies

- a sitting craftsman, may be missing a bowl?

- a coconut tree climber; note feet have come detached from the tree, easy to set back in

- a mother with child on her back stirring large bowl; note legs detached from feet and have been reset

- large detailed hand carving,possibly another boat?

Similar individual pieces have sold for $35 and up. The longboat alone has sold for over $100. All pieces for $150.
