Vintage Button Lot 3 lbs 5 oz Antique Rose Tin Metal Glass Celluloid Hair Combs For Sale

Large estate lot of vintage and antique buttons, sold in the original vintage rose-decorated candy tin shown in the photos. This came out of an estate and is offered exactly as found, unsorted and uncleaned.

WHAT YOU GET

• The full tin of buttons, contents weighing 3 lbs 5.51 oz on the scale (3 lbs 10 oz with the tin and lid, as pictured)

• The vintage rose graphic tin with lid, brand name no longer legible, ingredient text still faintly readable on the lid

• A small cardboard box of pulled-aside buttons including rhinestone, silver tone floral, gold tone, wood, and black glass styles

• Two vintage hair combs: a pearl and gold tone bead comb, and a cream celluloid style butterfly comb

• Assorted odds and ends mixed in: marbles, thimbles including an advertising thimble, safety pins, bobby pins, a rhinestone bar pin, a wooden hook, fabric tape scraps

MATERIALS

Hundreds of buttons in a wide mix. Visible types include metal and brass, some with eagle and crest designs, mother of pearl and shell, early plastics and celluloid, glass, wood, fabric covered, and painted styles. Sizes run from tiny shirt buttons up to large coat buttons. Materials are described by appearance only and have not been tested or verified.

CONDITION

Please review all photos, they are part of the description.

• Tin shows heavy age wear: surface scratching across the lid, paint loss and scuffing at the rim and edges, darkening and light rust spotting inside, general denting and handling wear

• Buttons are mixed condition consistent with a working sewing stash: many still have thread remnants attached, metal pieces show tarnish and some corrosion, painted and finished buttons show chipping and finish loss, some are scuffed or faded

• Small cardboard box is worn with tape repair

• Both hair combs show age. The celluloid style butterfly comb has yellowed with age. Teeth appear present in the photos but both combs are sold as-is

• I have not attempted to clean any of this to preserve condition. Some surface dust and marks may come out with cleaning, though I cannot promise results

Sold as-is, as a lot, exactly as pictured. Great for sewing, crafting, jewelry making, button collecting, or sorting through for finds.
