Vintage Midwest of Cannon Falls Beatrix Potter Tom Kitten Ltd Ed Trinket Box For Sale

An adorable limited edition Tom Kitten porcelain hinged trinket box by Midwest of Cannon Falls that features Tom Kitten chasing a butterfly. It measures about 2 1/2" high, 3 3/8" high including the butterfly, and 1 1/8" wide. The bottom reads FW & Co. 1998, Tom Kitten Limited Edition 5000, MCF. It's in very nice condition without cracks or chips.
The Tale of Tom Kittenis a children's book, written and illustrated byBeatrix Potter. It was released by Frederick Warne & Co.in September 1907. The tale is about manners and how children react to them.Tabitha Twitchit,a cat, invites friends for tea. She washes and dresses her three kittens for the party, but within moments the kittens have soiled and lost their clothes while scampering about the garden. Tabitha is "affronted". She sends the kittens to bed, and tells her friends the kittens have the measles. Once the tea party is underway however, its "dignity and repose" are disturbed by the kittens romping overhead and leaving a bedroom in disorder.
