Mr. Cannavaro is internationally known for his portraits, his landscapes, his marine paintings, and his architectural renderings His work is on permanent exhibit in the American Gallery of the Royal Academy in London and in many private collections throughout the United States and abroad.Every exhibit of his has been a total sell-out, sometimes weeks before the closing date and his award-winning watercolors have received acclaim from even the most severe art critics.He has contributed to the U.S. Air Force Art Collection recognized for his numerous magazine covers, some of which are now collectors' items.Mr. Cannavaro's portrait of General Robert E. Lee, painted after extensive research and the most thorough collection of authentic data, has been acclaimed as one of the best life-like portraits of the General. After hanging for an extended tour in Lee's Boyhood Home in Alexandria, Va., it has now become part of his private collection.Mr. Cannavaro was formally educated in the Arts in this country and Europe. He is a graduate of Fine Arts from Parsons (N.Y.U., N.Y. City) and a post-graduate student of The Sorbonne, Paris. Before graduation, he attended the Grand Central Art School, The Art Students League, the Art Directors' Workshop, and the Gustav Pernod all located in New York City. He also attended Southern Methodist University's Fine Arts Branch in Dallas and he studied portraiture at the Royal Academy of Art in London.Mr. Cannavaro was Art Director for several advertising agencies in New York City and Washington, D.C., and later maintained his own studio and advertising agency in Washington for nearly 15 years.Many prominent architects and builders in the Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Mid-West, and Southern California areas look to Mr.Cannavaro when renderings of private homes, office buildings, and shopping centers are required. He is considered one of the foremost in the field of architectural rendering.Mr. Cannavaro has recently made available, in limited edition, several groupings of litho prints on the subject of general Americana.
