Vintage USMC Marines Parris Island Platoon 896 Rifles Broom Candid Photo:

One Marine wears a USMC-marked uniform and pith-style helmet while holding several rifles. The second Marine, also in a USMC-marked uniform, kneels beside him holding a large broom. The pair appear to be joking or talking, giving the image much more personality than a standard posed military portrait.

The reverse is handwritten:

“Fri. Oct. 30.
Parris Island
South Carolina
Platoon – 896
Battalion – 10”

A small penciled “$15” appears near the lower edge of the reverse and appears to be a prior dealer/collector price notation.

Approximate size: 2.75 x 4.5 inches.

A strong piece of vernacular Marine Corps history with excellent visual content — rifles, USMC insignia, recruit-training context, Parris Island provenance, and an unusually candid composition.

Condition is good overall for age with light surface wear, minor edge/corner wear and small marks from handling/storage. Please see all photographs for the exact condition.
