Vtg 1939 Sans Souci Restaurant Havana Cuba Souvenir Photo Folder

Original vintage souvenir photo folder from the Sans Souci Restaurant Garden in Havana, Cuba — this predates the club’s later 1950s casino/mafia era (Trafficante, Lefty Clark), dating instead to its earlier incarnation as an elegant open-air restaurant and dinner-show venue. Colorful lithographed cover depicts the venue’s stone archways and palm-lined courtyard, with “Open All Year,” phone number FO-7979, and original price of 0.50 per copy printed on front.

Inside, a black-and-white photograph (laid down on the folder’s inner panel) captures a festive evening dinner party — a well-dressed group of men and women seated around a linen-covered table set with wine glasses, a bottle, and floral centerpiece, with other diners visible in the background under the club’s arched stonework. The facing page carries a period handwritten dedication/greeting in Spanish with signatures and what appears to be a date of Mayo 5, 1939 (May 5, 1939), along with an address and phone number — adding a nice personal, documentary layer to the piece.

Folder measures approximately 6” x 8” closed. Genuine period wear consistent with age: creasing along the spine fold, edge and corner wear, a small stain near the handwritten page, and light soiling — see photos for exact condition, sold as-is.

A scarce piece of pre-Castro Havana nightlife ephemera, and a great crossover item for collectors of Cuban history, nightclub/casino memorabilia, or vernacular photography.
