This handmade ceramic vase measures about 4 1/2\" tall x 3\" long x 2 1/4\" wide at the base; the top is bigger, 4 1/4\" tall x 3\" wide. The decoration is interesting, reminiscent of spongeware, but not exactly the same. The colors are brown and white, and the glaze is glossy. The bottom is unglazed, and there you can see inscribed \"S Ballard VERMONT 20\". The vase probably dates from the 1950s; the number 20 on the bottom refers to the vase model, not the year when it was made.
