🔥🔥Extraordinary pair 1870s Photos Downtown Los Angeles Carleton Watkins? For Sale

Each is framed under undulating original glass and matted in gray green and in simple wooden frame. The sight measurement of each is approximately 4.5” x 7.5”. These were reframed in 1923 and signed in the back by the Los Angeles framer. The caption on one reads “Old Los Angeles, 1882, The Plaza From Pico House Looking East”. The other reads “Old Los Angeles, 1882, Plaza Church of Our Lady The Queen of The Angels”. Though dated 1882, the scenes are actually from 1875 as explained in the notes. The black-owned restaurant ‘Barnums Chop House” seen across the Plaza Church was short lived and folded by 1876. Please read the article. Photos are in very good condition.
