We believe the note was written by either his great great grandson or his great great great grandson, also named John Woodbridge.

1) My original ancestor in this country was John Woodbridge, who was born in Stanton Wiltshire Eng in 1613. He came to N.E. in 1634. He became a preacher, and afterward, a magistrate…

2) The second John Woodbridge, above named, was the father of my great grandfather, Rev John Woodbridge of West Springfield. His son, my grandfather, was Rev John Woodbridge of South Hadley.
