1890’s to 1900’s Boston Marathon starter George Vincent Brown cabinet card. Published by Phipps of Hopkinson Massachusetts. Brown is a member of the Hockey HOF as a builder and the US Hockey HOF. He managed the Boston Garden for many years. George coached the US Olympic Hockey team and US Olympic track and field. George was on the US Olympic Committee from 1907-20. He was the starter for the Boston Marathon for many years in its early history. There is a statue of him at the start line of the Boston Marathon. A little less than 5 by 7 inch in size.
