1960’s B/W Photo General Electric’s “Walking Truck” Before Star Wars AT-RT

A really cool find!

This appears to be a genuine black-and-white photograph of general electrics robot prototype, the walking truck.

What makes it even more interesting, is that it is very similar in design to the Star Wars AT – RT Walker which came years later.

I have attached a few screenshots of information found online, but we cannot confirm anything as this photo has no markings.

The photo was found loose tucked in a 1942 machine shop and drafting room reference book titled “machinerys handbook.”

Please note the condition of the photograph, which is poor to fair. There’s quite a bit of discoloration around the edges and presumably some fading. No attempts to change the photograph in anyway or to clean it have been made and someone with knowledge of doing so maybe be able to clean it up properly.
