This wonderful cassolette is in nice condition considering age. (1880)Structurally in excellent ConditionSome chips (four notable) and some wear on edges. Pics are the best description.It is made from a beautiful black rock from South Africa, a sought after material for luxury interiors. It is a marble that holds its value and has also been referred to as African Black Granite. Cassolettes were burners placed on the upper edge of fireplaces.
