Beautiful shiny, lustrous, deep dark brown to black tetrahedral sphalerite crystals with deep red-orange flashes. Several smaller crystals demonstrate ruby jack character even more. Crystals sit on a sparkling gray druse of tiny rhomb crystals of dolomite on matrix. There are surprising sphalerite crystals nestled and partially visible inside of the matrix. Most of the crystals appear black-brown initially, some red-brown. With direct illumination, the small red-orange feature is seen, and most notably in the smaller crystals. This specimen is from the famous Elmwood Mine.
