DESCRIPTION: This is the nicest example of an original DOUBLE SIZE Antebellum/Civil War period Carte de Visite photo albums that I have ever seen. Used to hold carte de visite size photos and tintypes, the most popular photo medium of that day.

THIS ONE IS COMPLETELY EMPTY, so will be perfect for your collection of CdVs and other Civil War period photos and tintypes!!!

This is a nice standardalbum, containing25 pages, with room for 4 standard size carte de visite photos per page......for a total capacity of 100 CdeV\'s. A VERY RARE, LARGE SIZE!!!!

The album has aNICE SOFT BROWN LEATHER EMBOSSED PATTERN ON THE FRONT & BACK, gold trimmed pages, and BOTH fancy, intact perfectly working original brass hinges (One or more of these hinges is often missing, but THESE ARE PERFECT). ALSO HAS ORIGINAL WHITE CERAMIC \"BUMPS\" ON EACH SIDE, WHICH WERE INTENDED TO PROTECT THE LEATHER COVERS FROM SCUFFING.

This album is in absolutely excellent condition, AS NICE AS I HAVE EVER SEEN ANY ANTIQUE ALBUM, including binding, pages, and covers.Try to find another one in this condition, especially for this rare double size!!
