Beautiful pack of early Virginia Brights cigarettes. Manufactured by the Allen and Ginter Company, Richmond Virginia. There are remnants of the early tax stamps showing some date in the 1880s but I cannot see the last digit. The interior slider box shows a date of Jan. 8th, 1884. Right in the middle of the American Civil War. At some point someone had written "Indians" on the back side of the pack. Maybe they were stating the type of trading cards that were in the pack. I am not certain. Overall, the pack is in good shape for its age. These are hard to find in decent condition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in sending me a message.
