These handmade brass and copper Trench art holy water benitiers with crosses or a crucifix are a truly unique and moving collection. Trench art is a decorative item made by soldiers or prisoners of war offering insight not only to their feelings and emotions about the war, but also their surroundings and the materials they had available to them. One has the carved inscription "Verdun, Marne" which was the most ferocious and long battle during WW1. Another is shaped like a lyre and dated 1916. The 3rd one has the inscription "18 Pr J..C8 SL". Measure: largest 2.25 x 4.8 x 6.5 smallest 2.5 x 2.5 x 5.25.
