antique Pompeian Bronze bookends, football leather helmets, painted, c. 1925 For Sale

Offered here is a great pair of bronze clad bookends by the Pompeian Bronze Co. of New York. I have only seen this two times each time and each time it was as a single bookend . Each bookend had the same crack under the top player’ arm. I stabilized each crack with two-part epoxy but did not attempt to hide the crack with paint etc. it is what it is. I am asking a respectful price for these and I did not want to accused of hiding a crack. It is what what is and that is a very rare set of football players from the 1920s. Take a good look at the the photos. If you collect football antiques I imagine you have not seen one let alone a pair. I have had theses for a number of years but am now beginning to to thin my collection a bit. I will offering a number of collectible antique bookends over the next few weeks.
