You\'ve heard of MUFFLER MAN!
Let me introduce you to:
BRICK MAN!This ashtray/dresser caddy is from (approximately 1960-1970). It\'s undated but it is a model of the INTERSTATE BRICK OF UTAH \"brick man\" used in their signage and advertising (see second image!).
Although he\'s not perfect, he\'s still a wonderful piece of Utah history.
>Company history:
Established in the 1870’s as the Salt Lake Pressed Brick Co., it was awarded the Best Quality Red Shale Pressed Brick at the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893. The company reorganized into Interstate Brick in the 1930’s and began extruding brick.
The image of the building and sign, shows their Salt Lake City headquarters before their move to the suburbs.
