1874 SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL Memoriam 1965 Le Spode Plate Western Germany Rare.

I find this plate fascinating for many reasons... Sir Winston Churchill died in 1965 and this plate, produced in West Germany, commemorates his life.

The plate features Winston Churchill in a blue polka dot bow tie (a customary fashion look for him) and a stern, yet amused, look on his face. Underneath his portrait are the words: “1874 SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL 1965” – the year he was born and the year he died.

Franz Heinrich was the founder of Porzellanfabrik Heinrich Selb, the Heinrich & Co. , in 1896 in Bavaria, Germany.

MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY

There is a black script written over top of the mark and the words say Made in Bavaria, Germany Heinrich.
