1880s Brown University Baseball Charley Bassett MLB Cabinet Card 1st WS Champ RC For Sale

Early 1880’s Charley Bassett cabinet card published by Metzung of Providence Rhode Island. Early style stamped back mark. Bassett attended Brown University. He played MLB after college. Bassets first team was the Providence Grays. He was a member of the first Workd Series championship of MLB in 1885. Bassett played for a variety of teams, most of which are defunct. He did play for the NY Giants 1890-92, other than that he played for ghosts. Kansas City Cowboys, Indianapolis Hoosiers and Louisville along with the Providence Grays. Bassett played everywhere in the infield besides first over a long career. Card measures a little under 5 by 7 inch in size. Stains, toning and wear. Feel free to ask questions.
