Full Transcript [Page 1]Huntington L. I.April 22 1920. Dearest John: I am wondering if you are as lonesome as I am tonight. I have been feeling pretty bum the last two days, but will be all right again in another day. I hope you are none the worse for your little vacation. Jack darling you made me so happy dear. That talk we had, Jack, I will never forget. I do love you Jack so very much and want you. I want to curl up in your arms this very minute. I am wondering what your mother had to say when you tell her that you want to announce... [Page 2]...our engagement. I am awfully afraid that she will want us to wait. Jack dear to-night's paper is very unfavorable to the Bonus bill. If that does not go through we will have to wait won't we dear? I wish we didn't have to wait so long. I love you with all my heart dear boy. I told mother that you were going to buy my ring next time you came. Jack I can hardly wait for it. I never realized how much I wanted one until we talked of it Monday night. You made me so happy that night dear. I have not had a letter from you yet but will look for one tomorrow. Oh Jack darling how happy we are going to be. It is all I have been able to think of all week. [Page 3]Huntington Hill has resumed his faithful attendance. He came home with me Wednesday went down with me this morning and came back with me to night. He also invited me to go to prize speaking at High school to-night and treated me to a chocolate almond bar. I refused his invitation to the school. Jack darling I guess this letter is not the kind of letter you like. It is rather rambly but I feel rambly to night. I'll write you again Sunday and will try and make it a letter that will make you happy. I love you dear dear boy of mine. Someday we won't have to write letters I will be very happy when that time comes, too. It seems simply ages since you kissed me good by at Mineola station. I have not forgotten the time you kissed me in Grand Central Station either dear, do you remember? It was when you first went in the army and I went home with Addie. Jack my heart is just bubbling over with joy dear. Your own little girlHilda
