1925 Advertising Scrapbook Art Deco Ephemera Altered Jones Industrial Catalog For Sale

Unique circa-1925 antique advertising and graphic-design scrapbook created inside an original W. A. Jones Foundry & Machine Company industrial catalog.

The underlying book is Jones Speed Reducers and Power Transmission Machinery, copyright 1925, Chicago, Illinois. The original embossed maroon cover remains present.

At some point in its early life, the catalog was extensively repurposed as a handmade scrapbook. Numerous vintage paper clippings, advertisements, illustrations, typography samples and decorative graphics were pasted throughout the original machinery pages.

Contents visible include vintage advertising artwork, Art Deco and Art Nouveau style graphics, decorative alphabets and typography, travel and ship imagery, fashion and costume illustrations, theatrical advertising, Ridgways Tea, Holmes Wilton Rugs, book and magazine advertisements, Western scenes and many other period commercial-art images.

Many original W. A. Jones machinery catalog pages and industrial tables remain visible beneath the pasted material.

Fair to good antique condition as an altered scrapbook. Covers show rubbing, spotting, edge wear and corner wear. Pages have age toning, waviness, old adhesive discoloration, handling wear and occasional small tears or stains. The pasted clippings vary in condition and are part of the original scrapbook assembly.
