1956 Texas License Plate – AC4831

Authentic original 1956 Texas passenger license plate. Embossed yellow serial AC4831 on a black background with “TEXAS 56” across the top.

1956 was the first full year Texas issued plates in the new standardized 6\" × 12\" size. These plates featured the classic yellow-on-black color scheme and used the two-letter, four-number format (no star separator that year).

Condition:

Shows significant surface rust and corrosion consistent with decades of outdoor exposure or storage. The original yellow paint remains visible on the raised characters, and the number is fully legible. The plate retains its shape with mounting holes intact. This is a true weathered survivor with plenty of character.
