A fascinating piece of European cutlery history: an authentic, antique Corsican Vendetta Folding Pocket Knife (Vendetta Corsa), dating roughly from the 1900 to 1930 era.These knives became highly legendary in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as romanticized souvenirs purchased by travelers visiting the Mediterranean island of Corsica, often manufactured by the elite cutlery houses of Thiers, France. Historical Handle Artwork:The handle scales are crafted from genuine animal bone and feature traditional, hand-burned pyrography artwork. It depicts detailed floral motifs and the iconic "Moor’s Head" portrait—the historic national warrior symbol found directly on the Corsican flag. Dramatic Blade Inscriptions: The carbon steel blade features elegant, hand-etched cursive script on both sides wrapped in a decorative floral border.
