condition It could use a light cleaning, but I wasn’t sure what to clean this with so I left it alone.

This item is a rare antique Spode "Box" Teapot, made in England around 1805-1815. It is crafted from unglazed caneware (a fine, buff-colored stoneware) and spectacularly detailed with applied molded panels.

The circular panels show highly detailed Chinoiserie relief scenes under a willow-style or pine tree canopy. It is framed beautifully by vibrant cobalt blue underglaze enamel decorations depicting grapes and vines.

The Finial: The lid features a figural seated woman finial, which is characteristic of high-quality early English Regency stonewares.
