Antique Stereoview Card Lot 43, 1800s-1900s Underwood Keystone Travel Photos For Sale

This is a really interesting mixed group with a wide variety of subjects, publishers and locations. The cards include scenic and travel views, Niagara Falls, Yosemite and California, New York and Philadelphia landmarks, historic buildings, family and domestic scenes, children, animals, gardens and other period subjects.

There are cards from several publishers, including Underwood & Underwood, Keystone, Strohmeyer & Wyman, Bell & Bro., Universal Photo Art/C.H. Graves, and others. Some cards have copyright or date information including 1892, 1901 and 1902.

One particularly interesting card depicts General Tom Thumb, Commodore Nutt and their wives and has a J.C. Harris, Publisher, Washington, D.C. imprint. This is a historically significant group of performers and an especially interesting early stereoview within the collection. The exact date of this particular J.C. Harris example has not been established.

There are also some hand-tinted/color-tinted examples and a nice mix of American scenery, landmarks, people and everyday life.

Condition varies considerably throughout the lot. Some cards have significant age wear including fading, edge and corner wear, tears, surface wear, stains, paper loss and/or old tape repairs. Others are in better condition for their age. The Tom Thumb card has some coloring on the back. Please look carefully through all photos, as the condition varies from card to card.
