Beautiful antique gold-moriage Tame & Nakamura Nippon teapot & sugar bowl with geishas and cherry blossoms (TNJ6 pattern), in a lovely understated pastel-on-white color palette.

Hand-painted porcelain rich with gold adornments - handles, finials, spout, and gold-trimmed base; gold highlights to painted scene; gold enamel moriage beading around lid rims. Floraldetails in the gold of the tea spout are reminiscent of kimono fabric. Teapot measures 3-3/4” high and 8” wide spout to handle. Bowl measures 3” high and 5-3/4” handle to handle.

Green Cherry Blossom variant mark on bottoms:“TN Japan Hand Painted”, with wreath and five-petal Cherry Blossom.This mark is pictured on theGotheborg.comAsian ceramic reference site, with description: “Nippon/Noritake. Clean condition with no paint loss.No crazing, cracks, or repairs. Tea spout is chipped along left edge and shows minor gold loss at spout tip. Damage is not noticed when teapot is displayed with the spout to the right. View photos.
